“Kill me!” – Shooters shot by police after a choir concert in front of New York Cathedral

Shortly after a choir concert held outside in the New York borough of Manhattan on Sunday because of Covid-19, a man shot around but did not injure anyone. He himself was fatally hit by police bullets. The background to the incident is so far unclear.

(what / afp) In New York a man who opened fire on the sidelines of a Christmas concert was shot dead by the police. The man had shot around in front of the St. John the Divine Cathedral in Manhattan on Sunday (local time), but did not injure anyone, as the local police chief Dermot Shea announced. “Kill me!” He is said to have shouted. Three policemen fired at the man at least 15 times and at least one bullet hit him in the head. He died in the hospital.
