Kiev wants €300 billion in frozen Russian assets

Kiev wants €300 billion of Russian money

Kiev has called on the West to give it €300 billion in Russian assets. Assets are frozen abroad. The goal is to use them to rebuild Ukraine. The information is on NOVA.

There are growing calls in Washington and Europe for a Ukraine fund to use billions of dollars in Russian bank accounts, investments and other assets frozen by the West because of Moscow’s invasion.

“The confiscation of Russian assets must become a reliable source of support for our country and funding for our recovery.” Prime Minister Denis Shmigal stated this at a press conference.

Ukraine has warned that it desperately needs more military and financial aid. Schmigal urged Western countries to act quickly before elections and political changes could derail the effort.

In an emotional address earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the international community to respond decisively to Russian aggression and pointed out that no country could withstand such terror alone.
