Furious Kieran Trippier picks fight with fan; steward intervenes

Emotions were running high on Saturday after Bournemouth – Newcastle United (2-0). The Magpies lost for the second time in a row and the fans who traveled with them were not happy about that. When Kieran Trippier pointed out the many injuries in the team, it almost turned into an argument.
Newcastle lost 2-0 on Saturday thanks to a double from Dominic Solanke. However, Eddie Howe’s team was badly damaged. In addition to Sven Botman, Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson, Dan Burn and Matt Targett were also in the rag basket. Bruno Guimarães and Sandro Tonali were also missing due to suspension.
To make matters worse, Miguel Almirón dropped out during the game. Trippier therefore thought it was logical that Newcastle featured less. A fan who traveled with him did not think so, and the right back came to him to respond.
“Aren’t the boys giving everything? How many injuries do we have?”, shouted a clearly irritated Trippier. A Bournemouth steward then decided to intervene.
Trippier then ‘just’ spoke to the press, just like trainer Eddie Howe. He understood that his vice-captain was getting emotional.
“Kieran is doing well,” Howe said. “Emotions sometimes run high, we all have that from time to time. We thank everyone who traveled with us, it was tough for them today.”
The defeat allowed Manchester United to crawl over Newcastle. As a result, Erik ten Hag’s team is now sixth and Howe’s is seventh. Newcastle is also not doing well in the Champions League. The Magpies are last in the so-called Pool of Death with Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan.
