A boy with the initials MA (6) became a victim kidnapping by Iwan Sumarno (42), a man known as a street cleaner. The perpetrator is now officially named a suspect.
“He has been named a suspect,” Central Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Komarudin told reporters on Wednesday (4/1/2023) in the early morning hours.
The determination of the suspect was made after a case was held by the Central Jakarta Police. The case was completed on Tuesday (3/1) at midnight.
Earlier, Komarudin said that Iwan was uncooperative because he was difficult to provide information. Komarudin said the authors often said clichéd things. Like just wanting to take care of MA and wanting to accompany him on a daily basis.
“The perpetrators made convoluted statements last night. We are continuing to explore this aspect and will also develop it from the beginning, starting from the initial suspicion that the perpetrators took the victims up to last night,” Komarudin told reporters at the hospital in police, Kramat Giati.
“The description of the alleged perpetrator is still twisted into admitting that he just wanted to take care of MA, then he loved MA, then he wanted to invite him to accompany him on a daily basis,” he said.
Iwan was arrested in Cipadu area, Ciledug, South Tangerang, at around 9.30pm WIB, Monday (2/1). The perpetrator was arrested along with the victim he kidnapped.
“The team led by the Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit of Central Jakarta Police managed to find the alleged perpetrators as well as the victims,” Komarudin said.
Komarudin said his party was only able to arrest the perpetrator who was with the victim around 21:30 WIB. He said that at that time his team received information that the perpetrators were in the area of Cipadu, Ciledug.
“Where earlier at 21.30 WIB, the team received information about the whereabouts of the suspected perpetrator and the victim in Cipadu, Ciledug area,” he said.
