The parents of striker Luis Díaz, from Liverpool and the Colombian national team, were kidnapped this Saturday, the 28th. Silenis and Luis Manuel live in Colombia. The mother was released by the kidnappers and rescued.

According to the journalist Vicky Dávilafrom the magazine Weekthe car of the Díaz country, who were walking to Los Olivos, the neighborhood where they live, were intercepted by armed men on a motorcycle in the city of Barrancas, in the department of La Guajira.
Geovanni Cristancho, director of the Colombian police’s anti-kidnapping and anti-extortion squad, is heading to the location.
The Colombian Military Forces reported that they are supporting the operation, in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). The strategy will be to minimize the area covered by criminals.

Luís Díaz is one of the greatest talents of the current generation of Colombian football and is currently a starter for Liverpool. Born in Barrancas, the number 7 was revealed by Barranquilla FC and also spent time at Junior Barranquilla, the biggest club in the region.
