Kidnapped Colombian nun back in homeland after years

A Colombian nun who was kidnapped in Mali four years ago has returned to her homeland. On arrival at Bogota airport, she was welcomed and serenaded by other nuns.

Gloria Cecilia Narvaez was kidnapped in southern Mali in February 2017 by a group of jihadists linked to al-Qaida. She worked as a missionary near the border with Burkina Faso.

She was released on October 9 of this year. According to interim president Goita of Mali, this was due to the efforts of various intelligence services.
