Kid Rock canceled an upcoming concert this weekend after “more than half” of his group tested positive for coronavirus.
The 50-year-old musician confirmed the news in a series of tweets Thursday after an article from Billy Bob’s Texas said the August 27-28 shows had been canceled.
Rocks tweet lu, “The Billy Bob shows this weekend… I’m p — ed. Over half of the group has f-king covid (not me), and before you were brain bloggers and media trolls run your mouth, a lot of them, like me, were vaccinated. “
“I was going to come and rock the house anyway, play acoustics, DJ or even just Juggle…. Deez N – z !! – or at least try to entertain your good people, ”he added. “But seriously, it’s out of my hands on this one. I’m more than upset and you real people know I would never cancel if I had absolutely not done so too. For that, I am sorry. -Kid Rock. “
Rock did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Rock had previously performed at Billy Bob’s Texas on August 21 and 22.
Billy Bob’s Texas adheres to safety protocols, but proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test is not required for entry, according to an update on the site’s website.

However, the venue hosted a Jason Isbell concert earlier this month where proof of vaccination or a negative test was required to enter. The venue manager claimed it was not a regular policy, FOX 4 reported.
After confirming the news of his concert’s cancellation, Rock went on to make a statement about the deadly explosions near the Kabul airport in Afghanistan.

“PS – God bless our soldiers, in particular those who lost their lives today in Afghanistan”, he said. wrote in part. “I’m much more upset about this than an s-d virus and miss a few shows.” My heart is bleeding for them and their loved ones. “
Earlier this summer, Rock made headlines when he used a homophobic slur – then doubled down. In June, he suffered a backlash after taking the stage at FishLipz Bar and Grill in Smithville, TN, and mocked spectators who dared to record his set. The “Biker Boyz” actor reportedly shouted “f — k your iPhone” before using the other “f” word to mock his crowd.
Two days later, the performer, real name Robert Ritchie, took to Twitter to address the situation, where he remained without apologizing in his use of the insult.
