Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, the spiritual successor to Suikoden, will be released by 505 Games, with the developers promising “higher quality” through partnerships. Publisher discloses their partnership with Rabbit & Bear Studios at a A YouTube video posted earlier this week. Studio manager Yoshitaka Murayama thanked fans for their support, adding, “With this partnership, I believe we can send the Eiyuden Chronicle to our fans, adhering to the original concept with a higher standard of quality.” Murayama also said that the Eiyuden Chronicle was the “first of many expected matches” the team wanted to present to fans around the world.
Eiyuden Chronicle benefited from the hugely successful Kickstarter campaign in 2020, where it exceeded its target in one day and became the third most successful Kickstarter video game, raising over $ 4.5 million.Regarding what players can expect from the game, a press release said it would feature “a traditional 6 character battle system using carefully crafted 2D sprites and a beautiful 3D background with a deep and complex story written by the main storyteller Murayama”. . Eiyuden Chronicle is a JRPG with a 2.5D visual style, with over 100 heroes to recruit, as the game title shows.
Rabbit & Bear said they chose 505 as publisher because of their work on the PC version of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (another spiritual successor to the successful Kickstarter) and Death Stranding. The Rabbit & Bear team is filled with experienced Japanese developers with credits from game series such as Suikoden, Wild Arms, Tales of, and Castlevania.
Eiyuden was originally slated for PC, but after achieving big goals in the Kickstarter campaign, the console has been ‘unlocked’ and the game is believed to land on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch (or Switch successor) when ‘it will be ready. As for the potential release window, fans will have to wait. Murayama noted that Rabbit & Bear will post more information via the game’s official social channels.
