Offenbach – For Kickers Offenbach, things are happening in quick succession in the Regionalliga Südwest, because an English week is coming up. The OFC meets KSV Hessen Kassel on Wednesday (April 5). The game kicks off at 7 p.m. in the Bieberer Berg stadium.

OFC welcomes Hessen Kassel

Kickers Offenbach got a point in the 1-1 draw in Homburg last matchday. “Who knows what else he’ll be good for. Overall I was very satisfied with the performance, we controlled the game for long stretches and played a very good away game overall. We were much closer to 2:1,” said OFC coach Ersan Parlatan after the game in Saarland.

Due to the draw in Homburg, the OFC is now in second place in the table of the Regionalliga Südwest – five points behind leaders SSV Ulm, who also played one game less. KSV Hessen Kassel comes to the Main with 21 points in fifteenth place in the table.

OFC needs three points

The North Hesse game in Fulda on the previous day fell victim to the weather conditions. Most recently, KSV Hessen Kassel, coached by Tobias Damm, beat FC 08 Homburg 2-0 at home and secured important points in the fight for relegation in the Regionalliga Südwest.

In the first half of the season, OFC won 1-0. Christian Derflinger scored the goal of the day in September last year in front of 4,026 fans in the Auestadion. Kickers Offenbach urgently needs a win in the second leg to continue dreaming of the championship and promotion to the 3rd division. League leaders SSV Ulm already play VfR Aalen on Tuesday (April 4th) and can put the OFC under pressure with a win. Should Kickers Offenbach continue to fall behind in first place, the dream of promotion should come to an end. (smr)
