The professionals of the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga are said to be tested for the first time on Thursday for the corona virus. This is reported by the kicker. This should ensure that the teams are equipped as soon as team training is possible again. The German Football League (DFL) had recently announced that at least two separate tests should be carried out before joint units are added in order to minimize the risk of infection.
On Thursday, the Federal Government around Chancellor Angela Merkel will also advise the country heads on further easing. The clubs are currently enforcing the distance requirement in small group training, but the positive signals from politics regarding an early resumption of the season are increasing. According to the DFL plan, it will be played in May.

Close-knit corona tests are the basis of the DFL’s concept for returning to the game. A corona test should be carried out at least once a week for everyone involved in training and competition, in any case always directly on the day before the games. At least before the departure to the stadium, there should be clarity about the health of everyone involved. The DFL is expecting around 20,000 tests, and there are collaborations with five laboratory groups.
But there are still open questions. For example, according to kicker, it has not yet been finally clarified how to deal with people from the cadres or staff who are assigned to the risk group. This includes professionals or employees who have asthma, suffer from diabetes or have had previous lung diseases. The quarantine measures after a positive test have also not yet been conclusively determined.
