“Give summer a kick!” – with this slogan, a new festival announced itself in Bauska last year, the author of the idea of which is the musician Igo, or Rodrigo Fomins in his real name. On July 1 of this year, the people of Bauškės and guests of the city are invited to the second music festival “Knif?” on the stage of Bauska Pilskalns, “Igo Music Management” informed the portal.

The organizers of the event revealed that the festival will feature music of various styles: blues, jazz, ethno, rock and choral music – offering guests a wide program.
The joy of being together at open-air concerts on “Knif?” recognized talents – “The Hobos Club”, “Montana”, guitarists Āriks Upenieks and Aivars Hermanis in the duo “Bague Duo”, Igo, Muuna, Andris Ērglis, Ivars Pētersons, Pēteris Upelnieks, “Rusted Weel”, “Children of Austria” and the others.
In this year of Christmas, the festival “Knif?” has prepared a musical surprise – a collaboration between three European Latvian united choirs and Latvian rock music legend Igo in the concert program “A nation that sings, cannot be ignored”.

Dutch Latvian Choir, conductor Gunita Kronberga, Brussels Latvian Choir, conductor Gita Pāvila, Paris Latvian Choir “Latve”, conductor Ināra Braže together with musicians from Latvia – Igo, Jānis Strazda, Aina Zavacki, Aivars Meijers, Kristeras Kupča, Armandas Alksni 2022. gave three powerful concerts in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
About the program, its creators say: “Singing is an essential part of Latvian identity. With this heritage we grow, share and represent our nation abroad. Classical Latvian choir songs and legendary pop music will be played at the concerts, where the beauty of Latvia and the need for freedom and prayer will be sung. The program will be interesting and engaging for listeners of all ages.” The director of the program is Maija Kalniņa.
After midnight at the festival “Knif?” the core members of the “etc” club will play traditionally – Igo, Jānis Strazds, Egons Kronbergs, Mārtiņš Burkevics, Vilnis Krieviņš, Ivars Pētersons, Pēteris Upelnieks, Muuna and Klinta.
