KIA to Launch New Electric Sedan EV8 to Replace Stinger Model

The Korean car manufacturer KIA is preparing to launch a sporty, electric sedan called the EV8, which is expected to replace the current Stinger model in the future. This is according to information leaked on the web.

The new car could go into production around 2026, but for now there is not much news about it. It is understood that the EV8 will be built on the new eM platform. It is one of the new generation Hyundai-KIA platforms, with the manufacturer promising significant improvements, such as a 50% greater driving distance on a single charge than at present. To be fair, it should be added that the current e-GMP platform from the Korean concern is also considered to be very modern and technologically advanced. Apparently, the manufacturer sees significant room for growth.

If we can believe the information in the Korean media, the car is expected to have a 113kWh battery and a power of around 500-600 horsepower, which will potentially make it the most powerful KIA model to date. It is hoped that the car will be able to travel around 700-800 kilometers on a single charge. Currently, the fastest car from this Korean manufacturer is the EV6 GT, which develops 576 horsepower, achieving acceleration worthy of a supercar.

Before we get to such a new, inevitably very expensive model, KIA also has more down-to-earth plans – the manufacturer plans to launch at least two budget models in the next couple of years. It is part of the manufacturer’s “EV’s for all” vision to be able to cover the widest possible range of customers.
