Agent Kia Joorabchian criticized Sky Sports expert Jamie Carragher following his comments on Monday Night Football.
Carragher questioned the transfers made by Arsenal and suggested that Joorabchian was to blame for the ‘joke’ additions.
Joorabchian represents Willian, who joined Arsenal over the summer.
The former Liverpool defender said: “I think Mikel Arteta as a coach, for me, you could talk that he is under pressure now, but in the situation he is in, I wouldn’t even think about Mikel Arteta’s position.
“I really like Mikel Arteta. There is a lot of nonsense in the club: bringing players, buying players. I think some signings were a joke. In terms of bringing Willian, [David] Luiz in, Cedric [Soares] in.

The agent responded to Carragher with scathing comments in which he referenced an incident in 2018 when he spat at a fan.
He also urged the former English international to “verify his facts.”

Joorabchian said: “First of all, I understand that Gary Neville saved Jamie’s job when he had that serious incident and I understand that he wants to protect this brand by making comments that are not correct.
“I am very surprised that Jamie is one of the people who monopolizes the comments of Sky Sports. Sky Sports producers pay him a lot of money, hundreds of thousands, so I can’t understand why he doesn’t check his details before speaking.
“The fact is that I had nothing to do with the signing of Willian. If Jamie had bothered to check with Mikel or [technical director] Edu, they would have said that Mikel showed up at three different times to convince Willian to be his number one signing at Arsenal.

“He had the opportunity to stay at Chelsea and go to two other Premier League clubs. [Inter] Miami made him a very nice offer. Mikel convinced him to stay.
Also, David Luiz was in the same situation. Mikel spent a lot of time locked up to talk to him and persuade him to stay. Gabriel was on the roster of at least three other clubs.
But the main point is: why does Sky pay Jamie Carragher so much money to talk nonsense? Surely he has the contacts through Sky or himself to make a phone call to Edu or even Sky to ask a question through the press department.
