Khmelnitsky Region Inflation Drops to 6.3% in 2023, Prices Rise for Food and Funeral Services

In the Khmelnitsky region, last year’s inflation was at 6.3%, which is four times less than in the previous year. December was the final month in which prices rose by as much as 0.7%.

For the last month of last year, analysts note increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic drinks by 1.5%. The prices for vegetables and eggs increased especially noticeably – by 13.8% and 12.2%. About it told Podillya.NEWS.

Some increases were also noticed in fruits, beef, milk, butter, sour cream, rice, poultry, bread, confectionery, cheese, dairy products, fish and fish products, and soft drinks.

The price decline affected sugar, margarine, processed grain products, pork, sunflower oil, sugar confectionery and pasta – at the level of 5.3–0.3%.

Alcohol and tobacco increased their prices by 0.4%, while clothing and footwear fell by 1.4%.

A 0.2% decrease in housing maintenance prices was offset by the general maintenance of prices (tariffs) for housing, water, electricity, gas and other types of fuel. Household items, appliances and routine home maintenance rose in price by 0.7%, mainly due to a 1.2% increase in the price of large household appliances.

In the healthcare sector, prices rose by 0.5%, mainly due to a 1.5% increase in the cost of outpatient services. Transport costs decreased by 1.5% as a result of a 3.5% decrease in fuel and oil prices.

It is worth noting that funeral services have also increased significantly in price – 1.3 times, according to data from the Main Department of Statistics in the Khmelnitsky region.
