Slovak hockey defender Peter Čerešňák finally continues in the Czech extra-league club HC Škoda Plzeň.

He recently reported on Čerešňák’s departure to the Continental Hockey League (KHL), but the AK Bars Kazan club eventually withdrew from the original agreement.

“It’s great news for us. We’ve already come to terms with Peter leaving.” quoted Pilsen coach Václav Baďouček at isport.blesk.cz.

For the 28-year-old Čerešňák, the 2021/2022 season is already sixth in the Pilsen jersey. Already after 32 matches, he has created a personal maximum in Canadian points. So far, he has collected 29 of them (5 goals + 24 assists) and is the most productive defender and at the same time the most productive Slovak in the Czech extra league. His life season has also been noticed by foreign clubs, but he is still continuing in Pilsen.

“Something has been going on around him for two months. We wished him well because he did and still does a lot of work for us. The KHL has a transfer deadline on December 25 and we do not expect any more offers to come. , ” Baďouček remarked.
