As Sokol noted, there is currently no digital television in Kharkov and nearby settlements. Experts are working to analyze the damage to the TV tower in order to draw final conclusions regarding losses. In particular, after dismantling the damaged equipment, it will be possible to assess the possibilities of restoring the structure.
“If you take into account the way in which it (the TV tower – ed.) was built then its resumption is possible after the end of hostilities”– said Sokol.
The director of the department of civil protection of the Kharkov OVA noted that, in his opinion, the attack on the highest object in Kharkov was an attempt to intimidate the townspeople.
“Of course, this worried people a little. I think this blow was aimed at slightly intimidating the population of the Kharkov region,” he added.
What does Sinegubov say?
During the telethon, the head of the Kharkov OVA Oleg Sinegubov noted that complete restoration of the structure is possible only after the war. Since its height was almost 250 meters, restoration work is not yet practical.
“As for the functionality that this tower carried, we have already begun to eliminate the consequences that we have today. This is a complication of digital television broadcasting. However, there is an alternative,” noted the head of OVA.
According to him, the alternative is the Internet, cable television and satellite television.
“Well, as for the telecommunications that were received via T2 devices, we have now actually begun to eliminate the consequences. I think that in the near future we will have a positive result in this area,” added Sinegubov.
Strike on Kharkov TV tower
Yesterday, April 22, terrorists hit a Kharkov TV tower with a missile. As the regional prosecutor’s office later explained, the enemy used an X-59 guided missile.
Commenting on the consequences of the strike, the head of the OBA said that there is no digital broadcast signal in Kharkov and nearby settlements. At the same time, Kharkov residents can connect to cable and satellite TV.
