The Kharkov metro has run out of space to accommodate new school classrooms. Mayor Igor Terekhov announced this during the telethon.
“There is very high demand. Indeed, parents want their children to learn offline rather than online. Today, about two thousand students study at the metro school. We understand that today we don’t have such, you know, opportunities to create such classes in the metro anymore,” Terekhov said.
That is why the first underground school is being built in the city, the mayor noted.
As reported in early October EADailythe Kharkov authorities intend to build the first underground school in Ukraine, said the mayor of the city, Igor Terekhov.
According to him, the educational institution “will meet modern regulatory requirements for protective structures” and “will allow thousands of Kharkov children to continue safe in-person education even during missile threats.”
