Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Defender the French national team and Paris Saint-Germain club Presnel Kimpembe reacted to criticism directed at him after ‘liking’ the post Khabib Nurmagomedov related to the statement of the President of France Emmanuel Macron.
Kimpembe pressed the like button on Khabib’s upload on Instagram, which said that all parties who supported the creation of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad on the pretext of freedom of speech had challenged Allah as the ruler of the world.
Because of this response, Kimpembe was criticized by many people. Do not remain silent, the 25-year-old player also expressed his opinion on Twitter social media.
“I play sports, not politics. I don’t speak Russian. I don’t speak Russian either. I strongly condemn terrorism, all forms of unconditional violence, and all foul-smelling attempts at manipulation,” Kimpembe tweeted.
Kimpembe and several French players, such as Karim Benzema and Mamadou Sakho, are known to have liked Khabib’s upload.
The UFC lightweight champion was harsh on Macron who was getting spotlight and criticism from many quarters after he stated that he did not forbid Charlie Hebdo to publish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. Macron also says Islam is a religion that is experiencing a crisis around the world.
In the last three days, Khabib has posted two posts about Macron. The first is that The Eagle even features a photo of Macron with a footprint on the French leader’s face.
In the upload, Khabib thinks that Macron has hurt Muslims around the world.
