That was the number of fools who, after a three-year break due to the pandemic, did not want to miss the traditional women’s carnival in the creatively decorated parish home of St. Peter and Paul.
Chairwoman Helga Drost looked at a colorful sea of flowers as a welcome. Because many visitors had the motto of the evening, “cornflower blue – not only for the state horticultural show”, when choosing her costume.
So the women’s carnival turned into a jolly attunement to the state horticultural show. So many flowers bloomed on the costumes that the rectory became a brightly colored LGS branch. And if, for whatever reason, one or the other part of the site does not bloom, “we’ll take over the part of the flowers and come in costumes,” the women have resolved.
Together with friendly groups, among them the Huxaria witches, the kfd fired one rocket after the other with their program. From “Bauer sucht Frau” to the hit boom, in which stars and starlets of showbiz did the honors, the best entertainment was guaranteed. And even those who could use a little partner advice received tips from real life at the women’s carnival. The foolish Frieda Braun was at least as good as the original. And the fairy tale Cinderella – told in a very amusing way in young people’s language – was quickly given a new setting with Höxter and Corvey.
A huge applause was the best reward for the participants. The actors happily mingled with the jolly crowd, who felt like they were in the stronghold of Cologne, during the dancing and swaying rounds.
