KFC Uerdingen: 76-time second division player arrives – trouble over Corona aid

Before the match in the 2nd round of the Lower Rhine Cup, KFC Uerdingen announced another signing. A previously contract-free striker is coming.

That’s quite a statement! The KFC Uerdingen was able to sign Hamadi Al Ghaddioui. The regional league club officially announced this on Saturday afternoon (September 7).

“We are convinced that Hamadi will more than meet our expectations in the Regionalliga West. I am proud to welcome such an experienced player to our ranks. Special thanks go to our sports consultants M-Soccermanagement and Mehmet Eser,” says KFC sports director Adalet Güner. The transfer was made possible thanks to the support of a sponsor.

The 33-year-old German-Moroccan has an impressive resume. He played for VfB Stuttgart from 2019 to 2023 and was instrumental in the team’s promotion to the 1st Bundesliga in the 2019/2020 season. The center forward played two more successful seasons in the 1st Bundesliga with VfB. Most recently, the 1.90-meter-tall attacker was under contract with SC Freiburg’s U23 team until June 30, 2024, with whom he was relegated from the 3rd division last season.

In his career, Al Ghaddioui has made 16 appearances (two goals) in the 1st Bundesliga, 76 games (19) in the 2nd Bundesliga and 56 matches (11) in the 3rd League. In the Regionalliga West, he played 182 games for clubs such as SC Verl, Sportfreunde Lotte and Borussia Dortmund II as well as Bayer Leverkusen II and scored 63 goals. More goals could now follow in the KFC Uerdingen jersey.

Trial for Corona aid underway

In addition to the positive personnel report, there is also two pieces of bad news at KFC. In addition to the unpaid salaries of former employees – RevierSport reported – the club is currently also dealing with a lawsuit against a former tax advisor of the club and Corona aid that the club allegedly received illegally. However, a verdict is still pending. This is reported by WDR.
