The SBI reported that on Wednesday, January 17, suspicions were announced against Grinkevich, his son Roman and three other managers of companies under their control.
“Yesterday, a number of urgent searches were carried out to find and detain members of a criminal group, including a relative of a Lviv businessman. Unfortunately, he has not yet been found, but suspicion of fraud and participation in a criminal group was announced to him in accordance with the procedure established by law,” the adviser said State Bureau of Investigation Tatyana Sapyan.
According to her, the businessman’s son is wanted.
“If you know about his whereabouts, inform law enforcement agencies. She did not officially cross the border,” she said.
Today, the SBI expected that the court would choose a preventive measure for Igor Grinkevich.
Grinkevich case
At the end of December 2023, the SBI detained one of the largest suppliers to the Ministry of Defense, who wanted to pay a bribe. It was about Lviv businessman Igor Grinkevich.
In particular, the businessman is accused of offering 500 thousand dollars to one of the leaders of the Main Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigation. For this, he wanted “assistance” in the return of property seized from companies under his control during a criminal investigation.
The State Bureau of Investigation has opened several criminal proceedings regarding transactions involving the purchase of clothing and linen for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Lviv businessman’s companies won 23 tenders to supply the Ministry of Defense with clothing worth 1.5 billion hryvnia.
In addition, law enforcement officers are checking the involvement of former officials of the Ministry of Defense in transactions related to the companies of Igor Grinkevich.
