The Indonesian Men’s Basketball Team had to be eliminated early after being confirmed as bottom of Group D.
This confirmation was obtained after the team coached by Milos Pejic lost 67-74 to Qatar in the final match on Saturday (30/9/2023).
Indonesia’s performance at Zijingang Gymnasium, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, was actually good at the start of the match.
The Indonesian Men’s Basketball Team played convincingly to open up an 18-14 lead in the first quarter.
Entering the second quarter, Qatar began to put up resistance. However, the Red and White team was able to maintain its lead 37-33 until the break.
After consistently winning, the situation finally changed in the second half, the Indonesian men’s national basketball team started to lose ground and Qatar continued to press.
The Red and White squad had difficulty holding back the onslaught of the 104th ranked team. Until finally Indonesia lost 67-74.
Assistant for the Indonesian Men’s National Basketball Team, Johannis Winar, said that his team had performed optimally in the match.
