[이데일리 스타in 임정우 기자] Kevin Na (USA) won second place in the QBE Shootout (total prize pool of $3.6 million), a U.S. Professional Golf (PGA) tour event.
Kevin I, who teamed up with Sean O’Hare (USA), hit an 8 under par 64 in the final 3rd round of the tournament held at the Tiburon Golf Course (par 72) in Naples, Florida, on the 14th (Korean time). Na-O’Hare Group, who collaborated with a final total of 28 under par 188 strokes, ended the tournament with a tie for second place.
This tournament is not a regular PGA Tour tournament, but it was held in the form of an event in which 24 top Tour players formed 12 teams in a group of two. Each round is played in a different way, and the final round on this day was held in a four-ball manner in which two players played with their own balls and then used the better score as the team’s score.
The championship was won by Harris English-Mat Koucher (above the United States), who recorded 179 strokes at 37 under par. After 2013 and 2016, the English-Kocher Group teamed up to win the tournament for the third time. He received 895,000 dollars (about 970 million won) as the winning prize. Rory Sabatini (Slovakia)-Kevin Tway (US) and Ranto Griffin (US)-Mackenzie Hughes (Canada) were tied for second place with Na-O’Hare Joe.
The PGA Tour concluded this event in 2020. The PGA Tour, which takes a short break, will resume with the Sentry Tournament of Champions kicking off in Hawaii on January 7th next year.
