‘The Chapel’ tells the story of Jennifer who wants to win the Queen Elizabeth Competition as a top pianist, but must deal with her traumatic childhood and manipulative domineering mother to achieve her goal. Dominique Deruddere is on duty as a director. After working in Los Angeles for 14 years, the man is now back in Belgium. “How one’s ambition is not only driven by past traumas, but how that past can also be limiting to moving forward. That is a fascinating two-way battle”, says Deruddere about the film.
