Statistically, Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford) was once again very strong last weekend in Michigan. On this doubleheader, the 2014 Cup Series champion won the two races of the meeting, his 5th and 6th victories this season, thus becoming the best performer in 2020 ahead of Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota).
If it took extra time on Saturday to see Harvick get the better of Brad Keselowski (Team Penske – Ford), his Sunday success will have been acquired by containing Hamlin’s return in the last thirty laps.
The Toyotas of Joe Gibbs Racing were regularly in high spirits in Michigan, Martin Truex Jr finishing 3rd on Saturday before doing it again last night ahead of Kyle Busch, who still hasn’t managed to pin a victory this year.
Less success on Sunday in the Penske clan since Keselowski made a mistake in the second race, taking his teammate Ryan Blaney with him. In the Chevrolet bosom, the Camaros take 7th and 8th places as the best result, with Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports) and Austin Dillon (Richard Childress Racing).
