Kevin De Bruyne got a facial injury in the Champions League final. As a result, he had to undergo minor surgery in order to appear in Euro 2020.
De Bruyne had bad luck when Manchester City against Chelsea at the Do Dragao Stadium last week. Having failed to bring Citizens to the Champions League title, De Bruyne only appeared an hour before being replaced by Gabriel Jesus.
The Belgian player fell after colliding with Chelsea defender Antonio Ruediger. His face was battered and the day after he was diagnosed with a fractured nasal bone and orbital bone in the left eye socket.
De Bruyne also confirmed to miss the first match laga Belgian National Team face Russia on June 12 in Group B of the European Cup. However, there are concerns that De Bruyne will not be able to appear in the tournament.
So the Belgian national team, in this case, coach Roberto Martinez, confirmed that De Bruyne had to undergo minor surgery on his face. The operation lasted less than half an hour.
The action was taken to correct the position of De Bruyne’s fractured nose bone after a hard collision with Ruediger. De Bruyne must wear a mask first when he can act on the field.
“The process has been very, very positive. We can’t wait for him to join our squad on Monday,” Martinez said. Sky Sports.
“There must be a small operation for long-term purposes. He doesn’t have to be out for long,” he continued.
“The operation only took 20 minutes. The medical team are satisfied with the results. For sure, De Bruyne is fine at the moment.”
Presence Kevin De Bruyne of course needed Belgium considering he is a pillar in midfield. De Bruyne has 80 caps with 21 goals and 30 assists.
