Los Angeles – Hollywood star Kevin Costner (68) wants to bring his long-standing passion project “Horizon: An American Saga” to cinemas in the summer of 2024. The studios Warner Bros. and New Line announced the start dates for the Western two-parter with a short trailer. In it, Costner pulls out his rifle as a riding cowboy. The two chapters are scheduled to appear in quick succession, at the end of June and mid-August 2024. At times Costner had spoken of a four-part western epic.
Costner, who most recently starred in the western drama series “Yellowstone,” is on board to direct, produce and star in “Horizon: An American Saga.” He also stars Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Luke Wilson and Jena Malone in front of the camera. The saga revolves around the settlement of the US West in the 19th century.
It is Costner’s fourth directing project after Dances with Wolves (1990), Postman (1997) and Open Range (2003). His hit Western “Dances with Wolves” won seven Oscars in 1991, including best picture trophies for Costner as director and producer. dpa
