Donald Trump (74) has been banned from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Could that now also happen with his cameo in the cult classic “Kevin – Alone in New York”?
In early January 2021, the US Capitol was stormed by a number of Trump supporters. The president is accused of having digitally incited his fans – some social media platforms have therefore been forced to block Trump’s accounts.

Trump played himself in “Kevin – Alone in New York” (1992) and led little “Kevin McCallister” (Macaulay Culkin) into the lobby of a hotel.
After the events in the USA, film fans agree: Donald Trump has to get out of the strip. In one of several viral tweets, one user wrote: “He should […] locked up and digitally removed from Kevin Alone in New York.“

Another user wants to predict who Donald Trump will be replaced by in the film: “BREAKING NEWS: Donald Trump is digitally replaced by actor Christopher Plummer in “Kevin – Alone in New York”.“
A reference to when Christopher Plummer (91) stepped in for Kevin Spacey (61) at the last minute in “All the Money in the World” after Spacey was accused of sexual assault.
Regardless, Twitter users also digitally removed Trump from the clip themselves, while others made fun of his role in the film.
How Donald Trump got the role in “Kevin – Alone in New York”
Donald Trump’s cameo in “Kevin – Alone in New York” made headlines at the end of 2020 when the film’s director, Chris Columbus, commented on the cult classic.
In an interview with “Insider” he explained how Trump forced his way into the film when they were shooting in the Plaza Hotel, which belonged to the US president at the time. Columbus recalled: “Trump said OK [zu den Dreharbeiten im Hotel]. We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘You can only use the plaza if I’m in the movie.’“
Whether and how Donald Trump will be removed from “Kevin – Alone in New York” remains to be seen. In any case, Trump is permanently banned on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram deleted his account for the rest of his term as president.
