JAKARTA – PSSI General Chairman (Ketum), Mochamad Iriawan, a few days ago visited the training headquarters Indonesia U-19 National Team (Timnas) which was held at the Madya Stadium, Jakarta. During the visit, the former West Java Police Chief reminded David Maulana and his friends about money.
So, what money is Iriawan referring to? Iwan Bule – Iriawan’s nickname – asked the U-19 Indonesian national team players to train seriously. This is because all funding for the U-19 Indonesian National Team training center uses public money, which is financed through the State Budget (APBN).
“Remember, the money you use comes from the people. So you have to be serious. Don’t play games. If you play games, you will cross them out,” said Iriawan, quoting from the official PSSI website, Friday (20/11/2020).
Two major events await the U-19 Indonesian National Team next year. After participating in the U-19 Asian Cup on March 3-20 in Uzbekistan, the Garuda Nusantara squad will attend the U-20 World Cup which will be held in Indonesia from May 20 to June 12, 2021.
Therefore, in order to get maximum results, the government is not half-hearted in helping prepare the U-19 Indonesian National Team, in this case the problem of financing. Not surprisingly, recently the U-19 Indonesian national team trained for two months in Croatia.

While in Croatia, the results obtained by Witan Sulaeman and his friends were quite impressive. Of the 11 matches, the U-19 Indonesian National Team won five, drew three times and lost three times.
The Garuda Nusantara squad even won a number of victories with a convincing score. For example, when he beat Hajduk Split 4-0 and when he beat North Macedonia 4-1.
In the near future, the U-19 Indonesian National Team will return to its training camp abroad. Spain and South Korea are the two choices for the U-19 squad for the Indonesian National Team, concocted by Shin Tae-yong.
“The enthusiasm of all the players is extraordinary. Hopefully they will continue to be consistent and for new players who are called TC U-19 National Team this time, they can adjust and adapt quickly. They want to catch up with others, so they have to train with hard work,” continued Iriawan.
Currently, 37 players (minus the injured Beckham Putra) are undergoing training camp at the Madya Stadium, Jakarta. The plan is for the training camp to be held from November 16-23, 2020.
