The Kethel tunnel near Vlaardingen and Schiedam has been closed in both directions since 2:45 p.m. due to problems with the electrical system. Traffic on the A4 between Delft and Kethelplein will be diverted via the A13 and the A20. Partly due to the bad weather, holiday traffic due to Easter and the approaching evening rush hour, there are already long traffic jams in and around Rotterdam by mid-afternoon. Rijkswaterstaat does not yet know when the tunnel can open again.
