Kesteris: Navigating a Waiting Period in Acting Career while Embracing Change and Anticipating New Roles

“Obviously I’m getting old,” comments Kesteris.

When asked if he is not offended that new roles have not been assigned to him, the actor exclaims: “Damn it! It’s not typical for me to put on a lip. I listen to good advisors who say – you just have to wait. Well, you can’t run in a rickshaw all the time, because only then do you feel , that it exists. A Kester doesn’t have to prove he’s a Kester all the time. Right now I’m in a waiting period.

There has also been silence in the serials. Let thirty-year-olds and forty-year-olds run like foals.”

“There are big changes in our theater at the moment – there is a different vision and vision. There are many different selections of actors – such as castings, so that they can participate in productions,” says Ķesteris. “Undeniably, I’m still in the state. Well, furniture is and remains furniture – also in antique stores,” he quips.

Speaking about the past summer, he reveals that this summer there was not as much work as last year, “that’s why I feel a little drained. I hope to recharge my batteries in the theater,” says Ķesteris.

On the third day of the new season of the Daile Theatre, when the first rehearsal was held with Hollywood luminary John Malkovich, Kester’s name also appeared in the list of actors. He was entrusted with the role of Kurt, in which Lauris Subatnieks was just mentioned.
