Alappuzha: Kerala is struggling in the Ranji Trophy battle against Uttar Pradesh. Kerala managed to bowl out Uttar Pradesh for 302 runs in the first innings. But Kerala, who started the first innings, stopped play on the second day at 220 runs with the loss of six wickets.
Shreyas Gopal with 36 runs and Jalaj Saxena with six runs are at the crease. Kerala need 82 more runs to match UP’s score with four wickets remaining.
Vishnu Vinod (74) became Kerala’s top scorer. Sachin Baby (38) and captain Sanju Samson (35) also tried to hold on.
Indian player Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets for UP.
Earlier, Indian star Rinku Singh (92) helped UP. Dhruv Jurel (63) and Priyam Garg (44) also shined.
MD Nidhish took three wickets for Kerala. Jalaj Saxena and Basil Thambi took two wickets each.
