Raipur – Kerala bowled out for 350 in the first innings of the Ranji Trophy cricket match against Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh were 100 for 4 in the first innings when play was stopped on the second day. Starting the second day at 219 for 4, Kerala lost captain Sanju Samson (57) early on. Vishnu Vinod (40) and Muhammad Azharuddin (85) who added 80 runs for the sixth wicket helped Kerala cross 300.
After Vishnu got out, Azharuddin turned to counter attack and brought the score to 350 with the help of the tailgaters. Earlier, Rohan Prem (54) and Sachin Baby (91) also scored half-centuries for Kerala. Ashish Chauhan, who conceded 100 runs and took 5 wickets, shone in the Chhattisgarh line-up.
Batting in reply, Chhattisgarh lost openers Shashank Chandrasekhar (8) and Rishabh Tiwari (7) early on. It was Sanjeet Desai’s resistance (50 not out) that helped the hosts cross the 100 mark. Eknath Karkar is at the crease along with Sanjeet with one run. MD Nidhish took 2 wickets for Kerala.
