Kerala rain warning: Heavy rain will continue in the state; Warning for 10 areas today

The Meteorological Center said that rain will continue in the state today. According to the latest radar image, moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places in the remote Kerala districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur during the next three hours, the Central Department said of the Weather.

Orange warning

The Central Meteorological Department has announced an orange warning in the areas. Heavy rain is expected in isolated places. The Central Meteorological Department defines Very Heavy Rainfall as 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm of rain in 24 hours.

The Central Meteorological Department has announced a yellow warning in the areas. Isolated heavy rain is expected. Heavy rain is defined by the Central Meteorological Department as rain between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm in 24 hours. Storms are expected.

Up to 20/08/2024 : Strong winds with a speed of 45 to 55 kmph and occasionally up to 65 kmph are likely to prevail over parts of the Central West Arabian Sea.

17/08/2024: Gulf of Mannar, South Tamil Nadu Coast, Kanyakumari Coast, Southeast Arabian Sea, Near Middle East Arabian Sea, Maldives Region, North West Bay of Bengal Near North East Bay of Bengal, Southwest Bay of Bengal By Southeast Strong winds and severe weather is likely over the Bay of Bengal and adjacent central Bay of Bengal with a speed of 35 to 45 kmph and occasionally up to 55 kmph.

18/08/2024: 35 to 45 kmph at occasional intervals over Gulf of Mannar, South Tamil Nadu Coast, Kanyakumari Coast, South East Arabian Sea, Maldives region, East Central Arabian Sea, West Bay -North Bengal and the adjacent North East Bay of Bengal.

19/08/2024 & 20/08/2024: Gust of 35 to 45 kmph and some over Gulf of Mannar, South Tamil Nadu Coast, Kanyakumari Coast, South East Arabian Sea, Maldives region, North West Bay Bengal and North Eastern Bay of Bengal.
Fishing is not permitted in these areas on the above dates
