Kerala Blasters Women’s Team Forced to Cease Operations Due to Men’s Team Fine

Due to severe financial crisis, Kerala Blasters women’s team ceased operations. The financial crisis was triggered by a fine imposed by the Football Federation on the men’s team. The women’s team is locked in its eleventh month of operation. In the women’s league, the Blasters team finished third.

The All India Football Federation fined the Blasters men’s team Rs 4 crore for leaving the field without finishing the ISL match against Bengaluru in protest against the referee’s decision. The federation had rejected the appeal given by Blasters against the penalty two days ago.
