After long rumours, Kerala Blasters confirmed the transfer of Sahal Abdul Samad. Kerala Blasters have officially confirmed the news that the Indian midfielder has been transferred to Mohun Bagan. The Bengal giants have acquired the player who had a contract with the Blasters till 2025 by paying an attractive price. This is the highest transfer fee paid to an Indian player in the ISL. In addition to handing over Sahl, Blasters also acquired Indian defender Pritam Kotal from Bagan.

“The club has reached a final decision on the transfer of Sahal Abdul Samad at a transfer fee that cannot be redeemed even by transferring a player. It is with a heavy heart that the club bids farewell to Sahal who has been an integral part of the Blasters family since 2017. We wish Sahal all the best in his future journey,” Kerala Blasters posted on their social media page.

Sahal joined Kerala Blasters in 2017. Then Sahl was a promising element in the middle order of the Yellow Army. Then the contract with the club star was extended until 2025. Sahal’s move comes with two years remaining on his contract with the Blasters. Sahal is the most capped player for Blasters. Sahal wore the boots for Blasters in 97 matches. From these 97 matches, ten goals were scored from the boots of the Indian midfielder.
Sahal’s performance in the SAFF Cup has made Sahal such a valuable player in the transfer market. Sahal played a crucial role in helping India win the SAFF Cup. It was Zahal who scored the decisive goal against Kuwait in the final, assisted by Zahal and converted by Lalianzuala Changte.
