KEP HYGIAS: Online Information Action on winter diseases

The Health Center of the Municipality of Ioannina participates in the Online Awareness and Information Action organized by the Hellenic Intermunicipal Network of Healthy Cities (EDDYPPY), on the subject of:
Winter Epidemics – Citizens Ask, Medical Specialists Answer,
which is carried out with the cooperation of the Hellenic Society of Chemotherapy and the Medical Association of Athens
on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

The event aims to provide the right information on how to deal with winter epidemics, such as viruses, flu, covid-19, etc., which affect both adults and children. In addition, there will be a reference to the new vaccines that are circulating for the flu, covid-19, herpes zoster, etc., which groups should be vaccinated and what period they cover.

Through carefully selected questions, medical experts are asked to answer citizens’ questions on the subject. The following Professors – doctors, members of the Hellenic Society of Chemotherapy will participate in the panel:

  • Eleni Giamarellou, Professor of Pathology-Infectious Diseases, EKPA, President of the Hellenic Society of Chemotherapy and member of the Committee of Experts of the Ministry of Health
    Kyriaki Kanellakopoulou, Emeritus Professor of Pathology-Infectious Diseases EKPA, Member of the Board of the Hellenic Society of Chemotherapy
  • Mariza Tsolia, Professor of Pediatrics-Infectious Diseases, Director of the 2nd Pediatric Clinic of EKPA and member of the Committee of Experts of the Ministry of Health and the National Committee on Immunizations
  • Symeon Metallidis, Professor of Pathology-Infectious Diseases of AUTH, 1st Pathology Clinic of AHEPA Thessaloniki Hospital
  • Bessaria Sakka, Pathologist-Infectious, Director of the National Health Service, 3rd Pathological Clinic of the University of Athens, GNNTHA “The Salvation”

The discussion will be moderated by the journalist Eleni Kamara, who will also address the questions to the doctors. In addition, those citizens who participate in the event will have the opportunity to ask additional questions related to the topic.
