Kenyan Police Arrest Three Suspects in Connection with Elite Athlete Kelvin Kiptum’s Fatal Car Crash

Police in Kenya have arrested three of the four people who visited the home of elite endurance athlete Kelvin Kiptum just four days before his fatal car crash.

The world record holder in the marathon died on Sunday when his vehicle crashed into a tree by the side of the road. His coach Gervais Hakizimana from Rwanda also lost his life in the accident, 24-year-old passenger Sharon Kosgey was seriously injured.

After the death of the sports star, the security forces acted on the initiative of the father of the deceased athlete Samson Cheruyiot. He testified that four unknown persons visited Kiptuma’s house in the village of Chepsamo four days before the tragedy.
