Kenya lifts visa requirement for all countries

According to the news in the national press, Kenya Immigration Administration Secretary General Julius Bitok shared the information that the first passengers to enter without a visa landed at Jomo Kenyatta Airport.

Bitok stated that visitors enter Kenya using the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system and that they do not need to obtain a visa this way.

Sharing the information that there have been approximately 5 thousand ETA applications so far, Bitok announced that more than 2 thousand applications have been approved.

Kenyan President William Ruto announced at the ceremony held on December 12, commemorating the 60th anniversary of their independence from England, that they would abolish the visa requirement for entry to the country as of 2024.

Kenya aims to increase the number of tourists to 4.5 million in 2027 by removing the visa requirement for all countries.
