The Canadian is doing badly.
Following his defeat yesterday, he finds himself in 32nd place in the NHL, which is not exactly what the members of the CH had in mind at the start of the season.
You shouldn’t really dream about the series, but…
All this to say that everyone in town is looking for solutions: the supporters, the people who cover the club, the players, the coaches… and the members of the management.
Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton have cards in their hands that no one else has: those that allow them to make transactions or even recall players from Laval.
But apart from Logan Mailloux (who is just waiting for the injured to return) and Lucas Condotta, it has not been the festival of call-ups in town since the start of the regular season.
And in an interview with Eric Engels, from the Sportsnet network, the CEO of CH explained that there is a reason why the club’s great hopes (we can think of Owen Beck, Joshua Roy or Alex Barré-Boulet, even if this is not a hope) are still declining.
It’s important for us to win at every level and we want to give them the chance to do it in Laval. – Kent Hughes on his hopes
This isn’t the first time he’s said it, but Hughes reiterated that he doesn’t want to sacrifice/mortgage the future to improve in the short term. And with everything going wrong, both in terms of performance and injuries, it would take a big mortgage to bring CH #DansLeMix back.
So in the meantime, CH is a bit “caught” in the current situation – for better and for worse.
On the one hand, I respect the process of telling ourselves that hope cannot remain too much long down. But on the other hand, if a young person is ready to play in the NHL and the CH has room for him, you shouldn’t make him look too stupid there.
We also have to hope, in the name of victory, that the GM will not choose to send Lane Hutson for a ride to the end of the orange line. I don’t think it will be sold, obviously, but by reading Eric Engels’ text, we understand the importance of development at CH.
In burst
– Interesting.
– Speaking of the Rocket: no changes expected in the lineup tonight.
– People want the Salt Lake City club jerseys…even though they won’t be relevant when the club has a real name.
– Oh yes?
– Hum…
– Justin Barron a 23 ans.
