Kenneth Perez Criticizes FC Twente and FC Utrecht Players for Unforgivable Actions – ESPN Analyst

Kenneth Perez was annoyed by Mitchell van Bergen, Taylor Booth and Can Bozdogan during the last Eredivisie round of 2023. The players of FC Twente and FC Utrecht did something unforgivable, says the ESPN analyst.

FC Twente played the entire second half with one man more against Sparta Rotterdam, but was unable to win. Deep into injury time, Van Bergen got the ball, with the score 2-2. It was the very last chance for the Enschede team. Instead of introducing the ball, Van Bergen went for his own success with a hopeless shot, much to Perez’s irritation.

“There are seven players in the penalty area… He thinks: you know what, I have a great shot…” The ball flew sky high. “Van Bergen can only run fast, and nothing else. Honestly, I would change him immediately, even if there is still one minute to play, one hundred percent. I would become so furious. Really, it is so irritating to watch to look.”

During FC Utrecht’s home match against RKC Waalwijk (1-1), Perez saw the same happen to Bozdogan and Booth. “Then I think: where is your football sense? You don’t have that. You think: I’ll shoot this one out of the turn and into the intersection, while you know that your chance of scoring a goal is much greater by putting it in. Then you can something happen.”
