She usually spreads down the catwalk in all the world’s fashion metropolises and is one of the world’s highest paid models. Now ask Kendall Jenner (25) on the salary, and enters the liquor industry.
This week, the star launched his own liquor brand called 818 Tequila in his home state of California.
The tequila naturally had to be promoted, and the 25-year-old poses in a campaign film as a model for his brand.
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” profile shares several photos from the campaign on social media, both in their own channels and on the tequila brand’s Instagram profile.
In the video clip, Jenner is seen on horseback, surrounded by agave plants and with a glass of tequila in his hand.

The supermodel is further depicted with mouse braids and a wide-brimmed hat tied around the neck.
Two Mexican agave growers on a farm in Jalisco, Mexico, also appear in the campaign.
“Learn about this beautiful place, its beautiful culture and the beautiful people,” Jenner wrote in the Instagram post, which refers to Jalisco and Mexican culture.
Hard criticism
But not everyone rejoices over either the 25-year-old’s new tequila or the sight of her.
Fans and followers believe that the supermodel engages in cultural appropriation, and imitates Mexican culture with her outfit.
On Twitter, to put it mildly, it boils over with irritation.

“I can see the pain in this old man’s eyes, Kendall Jenner,” wrote a resigned Twitter user.
“No, Kendall Jenner goes for the Mexican style, as if it was not enough for her family members to appropriate black culture,” comments another.
“Check out Kendall Jenner who makes her best imitation of a Mexican worker. So refreshing to see that nepotism and cultural appropriation are still a profitable combination “, it sounds from a third sarcastic.
“Nothing screams more Mexican culture than Kendall Jenner does,” comments a fourth krast.
Some are also annoyed that the brunette has closed the comment field under the campaign photos on Instagram.
“Kendall Jenner blocked the comments on the photos from Jalisco because she wants to silence the voices that point out that it is cultural appropriation. 818 is not everything, I want to sip my Don Julio “, it sounds from a user, who refers to the Mexican tequila brand.
“Kendall Jenner disables the comments so that people do not talk about cultural appropriation,” agrees another.
Kendall Jenner has not yet commented on the criticism.
In the commercial, Jenner threw off a blonde wig and smeared off her lipstick before participating in a protest by activists holding banners with the peace sign. But instead of protesting, she took a Pepsi box and handed it to a police officer as a peace offering, while the audience cheered behind her. The policeman smiled in response.

It all went straight west, and the film was slaughtered by several serious media, and was described as a tone-deaf attempt to create a political resistance movement.
