KENA (Women’s Assembly of the Estonian Central Party) is waiting for the Riigikogu on Thursday, November 23 at 4 p.m.

Debate on Violence Against Women

November 25 is the United Nations called the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of violence against women, which takes many forms – physical, sexual, psychological and economic. Violence against women is a manifestation of unequal power relations, and its negative impact is manifested not only on women, but also on families and the entire society.

Do we recognize violence? What is the most common type of violence? How to report it? Why can’t you get out of an abusive relationship?

All these questions will be answered at the KENA event in the Riigikogu, where the head of victim assistance policy of the Ministry of Social Affairs will be a guest. Kristina Luht. We will certainly also hear what the situation is like in Estonia and how it is possible to help victims of violence.

We expect a lot of participation, the understanding of what violence is helps us to recognize and help those of the same gender in need.

Please inform [email protected] about your participation by Tuesday, November 21 at the latest; FB address eha network in messages, phone 5242979.

Estonia belongs to the group of countries with a higher level of violence.
