The community must be very aware of their respective environmental conditions
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) is calling on the public to prevent Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) through the implementation of the Drain, Close and Bury (3M) Plus practice.
“Let’s prevent dengue fever together through the 3M Plus practice,” said on Wednesday the deputy for the coordination of quality improvement of health and population development at the coordinating ministry for human development and culture, Agus Suprapto in Jakarta.
Agus explained, by implementing 3M, it means people need to drain and clean places that are often used as water tanks.
“Don’t just drain it, but clean it, for example in a bathtub, don’t just change the water but brush it with a brush and soap,” she said.

Aside from that, he also said that the community must also seal off the water storage places.
“Then, bury used items that have the potential to collect water because there are fears that it will become a breeding ground for mosquitoes Temples of the Egyptians especially during the rainy season with high humidity levels,” he said.
Agus added, what is meant by Plus application includes the use of mosquito repellent or lotion to avoid the possibility of mosquito bites while resting.
Also, use mosquito nets while sleeping to protect yourself from mosquito bites.
“So the most important thing and to remember is that people don’t get used to hanging clothes, for example behind doors, because they fear it becomes a resting place for mosquitoes,” she said.

“To reduce the incidence or occurrence of DHF, the community must be very aware of their environmental conditions and must keep remembering 3M Plus and always maintaining cleanliness,” he said.
Kemenko PMK, he said, continues to encourage ministries and agencies, including regional governments, to continue promoting campaigns and education about 3M Plus to the public.
“Kemenko PMK also encourages cross-sectoral coordination in order to prevent DHF,” he said.
