Jakarta –
The Ministry of Transportation admitted that he was summoned by the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), this summons was carried out in connection with the case of online motorcycle taxi from Russia, Maxim.
According to the Director of Road Transportation of the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Ahmad Yani, KPPU called his party to be asked for information regarding the rules for online motorcycle taxi rates. It is suspected that Maxim set the tariff under the Kemenhub regulation.
“We are being summoned again by KPPU’s friends regarding the Maxim case, this is related to tariffs again. We will continue to maintain our spirit to immediately implement tariffs according to the rules,” said Yani in a webinar with the Online Driver Association (ADO), Wednesday (14/10 / 2020).
He said that if Maxim stubbornly played the minimum tariff even under the provisions of the Ministry of Transportation, his party would not hesitate to write and ask the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) to temporarily close the Maxim application.
“If not (fixing the tariff according to the rules), we will write another letter to the KPPU and the Ministry of Communication and Information.
He said that when Maxim appeared in Indonesia, Maxim’s business practice of fixing service prices under the Ministry of Transportation regulations was considered problematic. At that time, according to Yani, Kemenkominfo’s threat to close the Maxim application was effective. Maxim also applies tariffs according to the rules.
“Maxim was the first time we had a problem, we immediately asked Kominfo friends to temporarily close it. Finally it was approved and fixed because the tariff was below for ojol at that time,” said Yani.
