Kemang Cafe Above The Waterway Will Be Demolished This Week

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

City Government (City Government) South Jakarta claim that the owner cafe on the water channel in North Kemang will demolish the building itself.

The news was conveyed by the City Government after it sent a notice of demolition some time ago.

WL willing (to dismantle themselves),” said South Jakarta Mayor Munjirin when contacted, Sunday (21/11).

Munjirin said the demolition would be carried out within this week. The owner will clean up and tidy up the items in the building.

Previously, Munjiri said there were five buildings that had been asked to be demolished. His staff, he said, had carried out socialization so that building owners were expected to cooperate.

“Humanity first. Who knows if you really want to, there are already subordinates there, they have socialized, and it seems the people are also cooperative,” he said.

Munjirin also explained the reason why his party was only taking action on the building now, even though the building had been standing for several years.

“Because the position is behind the house, not in front, behind. So the IMB is indeed the house does not reach the (water) channel. He added it himself. That’s why it was wrong,” he said.

The news of the establishment of a cafe building above the Kemang waterway was previously revealed by the Head of Bangka Village, Firdaus Aulawy. He said that there are five buildings in the Kemang area, South Jakarta that the local government will take action against because they stand on top of a water channel. The local government is still holding a meeting regarding the action.

“There will be action, until now preparation meetings are being carried out,” he said when contacted CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (16/11).

Firdaus said that the building was known to have been around for a long time. Then, he said, recently the local community reported to the Governor of DKI about the building. He said from community reports, the building that stood above the water channel was one of the causes of flooding in the area.
