Kelly Preston died of breast cancer – VG

– It is with a very heavy heart that I inform that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle against breast cancer. She fought a brave fight with the love and support of so many, writes John Travolta on Monday morning Norwegian Time.

He also thanks the doctors and nurses at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, as well as well-known loved ones who have been by her side.

– Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered, Travolta writes.

Grieving with the children

Preston and Travolta married in 1991 and had three children together, Jett, Ella Bleu and Benjamin.

During a Christmas holiday in 2009, they experienced every parent’s biggest nightmare, when Jett had a seizure and died – only 16 years old. Jett suffered from congenital Kawasaki syndrome, a disease that can lead to inflammation of the blood vessels and, in rare cases, heart problems.

Travolta writes on Facebook that in the future he will be there for Ella Bleu (20) and Benjamin (9) who have now lost their mother.

– So forgive me in advance if you do not hear from us for a while. But know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal.

Famous actor

Preston has starred in numerous films, including “Jerry Maguire”, “Twins” and #For Love of the Game “. She and Travolta have also played together in “Battlefield Earth” and “Gotti”.

After the eldest son died, the couple had a break from the limelight. In 2010, Preston said it was 16-year-old “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus luring her back to work six months after the painful loss. In “The Last Song”, released in 2010, Preston plays the mother of Cyrus’ character.

– It was Miley who even asked me if I wanted to play her mother. I was very touched. It was the perfect movie to throw yourself into, ”Preston told People magazine.
