Not only and exclusively for tennis Roger Federerbut also a new fashion collection with UNIQLO, in collaboration with Jonathan Anderson Kei Nishikori drove me crazy. For the first time since his retirement, Roger Federer returned to Wimbledon Center Court last July.
As a guest of the Royal Box and Princess Kate Middleton, the Swiss received a long and emotional standing ovation before the match between Elena Rybakina and Shelby Rogers. After London, the Swiss maestro launched his new LifeWear collection on August 3rd in collaboration with Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson.
Nishikori was intrigued by the new collection and posted photos of himself wearing pieces from Federer’s fashion collection, praising the ’90s touch. Nishikori, UNIQLO Ambassador, wrote on Instagram: “UNIQLO launches a new collection dedicated to Federer’s design.
I feel the 90s tennis vibe and I love it. Be sure to check it out!”
Federer spoke about his return to Wimbledon
Federer spoke about a strange episode related to his presence at the All England Club and tried to explain the different sensations he felt compared to the visit in 2022, when, together with the majority of tennis, he celebrated the 100th anniversary of the most famous center Courts of the world celebrated players and tennis players who have won Wimbledon at least once in their career.
At that time, the Swiss was not yet retired and the desire to compete played a cruel joke for him. He told the Wall Street Journal: “My father joined me in the Royal Box and asked me: Wouldn’t you rather be on the field instead of sitting here? My answer was clear: for heaven’s sake, no, I’m very happy to be sitting here.
I was happy and at peace with myself. I enjoyed the show even without playing. When I stood on the pitch in 2022 to celebrate Centrale’s 100th anniversary, I felt like I didn’t really want to be there.
Of course it was important to be there and be part of this event, but I felt a sense of pain and a sense of dissatisfaction. This year I was much happier when I came back; just as people were happy to see me.”
