Comic heroes, vacuum cleaner photo campaign: Two men defy the culture lockdown and bring the new single “Fake” onto the market – and all of this in Marvel style.

Culture lockdown the second: Again there is a blow to the creative industry. Meanwhile, the hip-hop band Zweierpasch is releasing their fourth corona session, and it has it all. Their single “Fake” was reinterpreted with a nine-member band, according to a press release by the band. Thematically, it fits like a fist in the current time: Corona, fake news, conspiracy theories and AfD, the group continues.
Favorite character
As is well known, every crisis needs its heroes. It is no coincidence that the comic-style video is reminiscent of Marvel films. The audience can choose their favorite character: For example, the lion-maned guitarist Stefan Harth, who lets himself out on colorful effect devices, the brass players Stefan Haulitschke and Patrick Schäfer, who swing the vacuum cleaner for the finale, or the drummer Moritz Ulrich, who drums on a balloon. Eight different screens show the nine characters making music, reports Zweierpasch.
“What already finished?” you can hear a child’s voice asking pianist Christian Haber for a lively exit from the grand piano at the end of the track. Not quite: the moody finale is tough. At the latest then you can ask yourself: How serious are the twin rappers Felix and Till Neumann with controversial statements about racism, climate change, soccer star Neymar or the #MeeToo Movement (in France: #BalanceTonPorc)?
“The biggest scandals and hype of 2020 in Germany and France – we’ll take them apart,” says front man Felix with the brand color blue. “Time is really fast moving, fake news lurks around every corner, does not fall into the trap,” adds his twin brother Till. And afterwards, winking, pushes: “Always like and share first, then think.”
Known for peace work

The Franco-German Lyricists are known as political musicians and activists for environmental protection and peace work. In 2019 they were awarded the renowned Adenauer De Gaulle Prize in Paris for their cross-border musical work. For 2021 they announce the EP “Positive Rebellion” together with the label Jazzhaus Records. On January 6th, they will be accompanying a public stream event live from Offenburg.
As the press release further shows, they are part of the “Kulturgesichter0761” campaign, which draws attention from Freiburg to the creative industry affected by corona. Most recently, the Freiburg photographer Felix Groteloh shot them for it. Her likeness now adorns posters and the social media campaign launched by initiator Alex Hässler alongside other cultural workers.
