Successful blood donation campaign by the DRK local association Eckartsweier: 154 people willing to donate came to the festival hall at the most recent event. It was a first for 20 of them.
Blood has been donated in Eckartsweier since 1990 – and always with good to very good results. Just like these days, when the 93rd blood donation date was once again a great success.
154 people willing to donate came to the festival hall, including 20 first-time donors. Andrea Frick, the new speaker from the Baden-Württemberg/Hesse blood donation service, was also there for the first time in Eckartsweier. She was warmly welcomed by Edgar Reuter, chairman of the DRK local association Eckartsweier.
In the evening, the German Red Cross team was able to take 147 canned goods with them to Baden-Baden. This time, due to illness, only team leader Uwe Burgmeier and three colleagues came from the spa town to Eckartsweier for the inspection. The DRK helpers were assisted by two doctors: Antonie Alexander from Markgräflerland and Lothar Schaufler from Achern.

“With today’s appointment, a total of 506 canned goods have gone from Eckartsweier to the headquarters in Baden-Baden-Baden this year,” said Edgar Reuter happily in the evening. Among the donors was the SV Eckartsweier football team, which came to collect blood with 15 players and their chairman Francis Schultz.
The 30 Red Cross members from the preparedness and social work teams, the Youth Red Cross and the freelance helpers from the local association, who looked after the donors in two shifts, ensured a relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen team was motivated and friendly as always and served the “Badische Dreierlei” (Baden Dreierlei) as a refreshment after the donation.
The next blood donation date in Eckartsweier is on Friday, January 3rd.
